Six Degrees

"Every person is a new door to a different world."
- from the film Six Degrees of Separation

I had the pleasure of spending some extended quality time with a group of women I hold dear to my heart. We’ve been gathering for about seven years now. At first we came together under the auspicious energies of the full moon, often incorporating ritual. As the years have progressed the initial idea has morphed a bit as our love has deepened. There are seven of us, each as different as our seven chakras, yet connected by a common silver cord. We are all mothers of a child or children that currently attends or attended the same Waldorf School. I came to the group one moonlit evening to teach aromatherapy and facilitate the creation of a sacred anointing essential oil blend.

This past week we had the opportunity to gather at M’s glorious home in the foothills of the Los Padres National Forest over looking a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean. We strolled her abundant orchards, spoke for hours under the cool light of the moon, inhaled the fresh air and deepened our bound with each other.

Each of these divine ladies of this sisterhood are committed to living consciously. It is inspiring and uplifting to be in their presence. We are all mothers living in our art spirit.
