Eau de Parfum labels!!

The end point of the long and winding road to the Eau de Parfum labels is finally here! Figure 1: Noir as an EdP has now been listed in the 6 gram and 1 gram sample sizes. Please be aware that there is limited amounts left of this first edition, upcoming editions will be done in larger quantities.

Next in the graphic design journey are a slight re-design of the mini informational cards which will be printed by a new, much more professional establishment.

The Replacements

The new round bee tins are slowly replacing the honey pots and thus eliminating a little plastic from the shop. My ideal is to find something that will accommodate 5 grams of solid natural perfume, like the honey pot.

The quest continues.

The Looking Glass

Greg and I ventured over the Santa Monica Mountains yesterday for a meeting at the Hotel Del Mar in Santa Monica. Those of you who read this journal regularly know that I am on the constant search for bottles and containers that meet my aesthetic and environmental criteria without needing to order 10 to 25K units.

Well, I'm excitedly to report I finally may have found an alternate source for my liquid perfume bottles and sprayers. Nothing is for sure until I have the actual order in hand, but, there seems to be a bright light at the end of the long and crazy road of uber niche, conscious, natural perfumery packaging.

In general I haven't been getting out of the studio much due to orders. Yesterday wasn't the smartest day to be out and about, however, the day was gloriously beautiful and a treat to look out on the blue ocean and clear sky. Santa Monica is one of my very favorite places to go and the outing in the fresh air did both of us good a world of goodness...besides the thrilling aspect of new bottles!

Fluid flow

In an effort to make the business more efficient I have changed the packaging of the 1 gram vials of liquid, natural perfume. In the past I was using the folded pink enclosures that I would print out, fold and assemble.

For years I've had little glassine envelopes pinned on my bulletin board here in the studio to make the shift. Thus, now when you order a 1 gram vial it will arrive with the set of three little info cards. I am working to remove as much plastic.

Next up, the natural tubs, referred to as Honey Bee Pots, are going to be replaced by glass. More fluid flow, streamlining, is on the horizon...inch by inch, brick by brick.

In the Studio

The hunt for finding ways to present botanical perfume products in a sophisticated and environmentally conscious manner is an ongoing process.

I finally found bags for the solid perfume minis that are from America and made with a natural fiber. For now I am using a rubber stamp of two acorns on the front, however, soon the bags will have my iconic honey bee instead.

I'm back to reformulating the chocolate butters from last Valentines day, for now I have two of the honey bee pots back in the shop ChĂȘne (the oak) and Blanc (vanilla). I've found some packaging that I really like for these in bigger versions since you all want them as body butters. Expect those to hit the shop in late October. If there is a flavor from the last two tiers that you would like please e-mail or convo me and I will list it in the shop for you. Read more here at this link.
